I’ll give it a try I suppose. It’s the only way to know 🙂 Probably next weekend tho…

Yeah I agree it’s not a good way, but I guess I hate to see bonuses go to waste 🙂 And if I can’t be there….

My experience so far has been it is always best to lay first on betfair, then back at bookie (betfair moves faster than bookie)….about 5 minutes before the race (seems to be the closest at that time)

Thanks Richard, really appreciate your know how!

Thanks Richard. When you say try. I gather you mean it doesn’t always match it?

I was just wondering really if this is a viable avenue to get horse bets on should I not be able to be there 5-10 mintues before the race starts.

That is, because the odds are so sparsly matched hours before the off, if I can guess the odds and try get it close to the bookies odds, but if I guess wrong, I want it to still put the bet in anyway when the race starts?

    What do you think?

    Thanks heaps

I don’t know, I find crownbet pretty good for the horses. Williamhill soso…but one less bookie! Not so keen on that…cross our fingers…

I think I made 200 or so today, which not be shabby..

I got me a love letter from pointsbet (not enough mug bets), so I’ve been avoiding them this week…gonna mug them up for a month or so to be on the safe side…

Good luck man, the horses are good for us! 🙂

Well I like bonus bets! 🙂

I poked around a bit on the internet. Beteasy was what Crownbet were before they got baught out by Mr Packer. I wasn’t around back then.

why they gotta make it so complicate 🙂

Thanks willie. I didn’t realise, but I read it wrong twice! I figured it was max $25 refund. So I bet the favorite. (I suppose at least more likely to win that way, but less profit)

It takes some practice to get ones head around

    Thank you!

    Thanks Willie.

Well that’s a relief to get refunded 🙂

Had a fairly unlucky day today. Oh wells…still made $50 or so…but hard work for it!

Yeah, I like sportsbet, there website is the best IMO…

Pointsbet I quiet like at this stage too…not as good value tho. But lots on offer cause they do the whole set of races…

I thought maybe something terrible had happened like….the favorite won and I didn’t get my bonus bets!!!! 🙂

Nah, for a moment I thought, hmm maybe there was a stack and they all went down, the whole lot of them dying, hence calling of the whole meet…

Glad it was just the wind 🙂

Because I’m only in it for the matching, I didnt realise that sort of thing can put off races 🙂

p.s. Also sportsbet do races 1-3 for that one…cronwbet just race 1…and I cant remember what neds was…

Horse refunds treating me pretty well! Biggest problem is being able to do it while at work (and I work saturday)…but still even during my 15 and my lunch break yesterday, I made a few hundred.

I tried it today. Seems as though it worked without complaint. At least at sportsbet and crownbet.

    Well not so much VPN. A VPS. I would guess you know the difference, just maybe misread. But for clarification;

A VPN is a like a proxy way of accessing another network (a website).
A VPS (Virtual private Server) is just a machine running somewhere else that I can remote desktop into.

I was thinking Microsoft Azure would be a cheap way to do it. But I dunno, maybe that’s going overboard 🙂

My goal would be to just have all my windows and documents open always ready to go no matter where I am…

But yeah in retrospect I think it’s probably not worth the risk of having traffic originate from an overseas IP address…

I could use teamviewer to access my home computer which would work. But it messes with my monitor setup (I have 7 of them plugged in)…but I guess that’s all complicating things 🙂

I’ll just keep it simple and just deal with it like a normal person 🙂 …or maybe dropbox or google drive could keep my documentation in sync…

    Thanks guys!

Classicbet have a very large turnover. I’ve done two $650 deposit ones. Both have been a pain in the ass for me…

My second one, I was almost home, had 200 bucks left, everything had won at the exchange….then bam a series of long odds won…I’m now stuck at $1500 at classic bet and about $1200 in turn over left….after it’s all done I doubt I’ll make any profit….

Just something to be careful of…but probably not much you can do anything about…

Good point! Thanks Willie. I can’t read it either. I’ll try and fix it somehow! Can’t seem to fix or edit that post. But this below is what I said 🙂 I had to dig it out of the page source.

So I’m trying to figure out a way to put bets on during my breaks at work when I don’t have access to my home computer.

I was thinking of setting up a VPS where I have all my windows open, and just accessing it remotely. That way I can access the same stuff at home and remotely on different computers… My concern is that the bookies might get upset if my IP address is from overseas (I’d just be using a really cheap overseas VPS).
What do you guys think? Is it safe do things from a non-australian based VPS?

    Thanks for any thoughts!

    > At least with Matched Betting you know you will never lose! :))

It’s true. Well unless you make a mistake. That classicbet matched deposit one is a bit of a bastard 🙂

..and besides I’m doing matched betting because I haven’t made any money trading yet…(although…in time I see light)….

Thanks heaps for all your advice, that thread shall be good to watch!

Really appreciate the input guys. Those tips are all really helpful to me….I’m super keen to make it work. I sorta need to buy a new car haha 🙂

Regarding Betfair trading. It’s a lot more difficult that it looks. I wont side track this thread too much (but can start another thread if anyone is interested in discussing it). I have been working at it for about 12 months now, but I have made a lot of mistakes in a few ways. 95% of my time has sunk into software development issues and perhaps shooting too high, deving software is always a thornie pit…..I do however still hold faith once I have got over that hurdle, I’ll be on my way…in retrospect to what I am doing I’d be using something like betangle, gruss or geekstoy….I still think im 6 months away from making any mooney…

Matched betting is a sidetrack from that, but one thing I think it will help with is identifing strategies for trading….but yeah, that’s all a long term goal of mine….

    Thanks everyone!

I have been trying the horse racing the same as you the last week. Working out pretty good so far.

Most of the other accounts I have, like madbookie, bluebet, bet.club, etc, they don’t seem to have much on offer…

I shall have to master the mug bet going ons…

    Thank you
