Quick answer: top 4 Australian bookies for matched betting

For matched betting in Australia in 2026, the four most valuable bookmakers are: 1. Sportsbet — daily horse racing refunds and AFL 24-point payouts; 2. PointsBet — twice-weekly racing reloads with 2nd-place refunds up to $100; 3. Neds — varied AFL/NRL promos and Saturday racing refunds; 4. BetEasy — frequent risk-free racing offers up to $50. Each is licensed, accepts Aussie residents and consistently produces matched-betting value when paired with the Betfair Exchange and our calculator.

How we rank Australian bookmakers

We rate each Aussie bookie on five matched-betting criteria, weighted toward long-term value:

  • Reload value (35%) — frequency and quality of ongoing promotions, not just signup
  • Signup bonus (20%) — face value and ease of unlocking
  • Market depth (15%) — odds availability across racing, AFL, NRL, soccer
  • Withdrawal speed (15%) — how quickly cash hits your bank
  • Account longevity (15%) — how long before bonus restrictions or limiting kicks in

Ratings below are based on the past 12 months of promotions tracked through our promotion tracker and member feedback.

Comparison at a glance

  • Sportsbet — Best for daily racing refunds. Reload frequency: daily. Rating: 4.8 / 5.
  • PointsBet — Best for high-value Wed/Sat racing. Reload frequency: 2× per week. Rating: 4.7 / 5.
  • Neds — Best for mixed AFL/NRL + racing. Reload frequency: 3–4× per week. Rating: 4.6 / 5.
  • BetEasy — Best for risk-free racing offers. Reload frequency: 3–5× per week. Rating: 4.4 / 5.

When it comes to matched betting, not every bookie has the same amount of value to us. Some offer a generous signup bonus then nothing else thereafter, whilst others may not have the best signup bonus, but they provide us with really good reload offers.

So, which are the best Australian bookies?

In this blog post I will talk about my personal top 4 bookies for matched betting, and why I prefer them from the rest.

1. SportsBet

If you have been following my blog for a while, then you would have noticed how SportsBet always end up on the horse racing reloads page.

They have the same refund offer on a daily basis for horse racing, which is what I mainly use them for.

HORSE RACING:

  • *Midweek*: They usually offer a refund up $50 on 3 races if your horse finishes 2nd or 3rd.
  • *Saturdays*: They have the same offer as in the midweek, but at two or three full race courses.

AFL:

  • 24 Point Payout offer all season.

2. PointsBet

PointsBet can be a nice earner when it comes to reload offers. Twice a week they have great horse racing offers on, plus some AFL and NRL offers throughout the season.

HORSE RACING:

  • *Midweek*: Wednesdays are when PointsBet brings out the horse racing offers! Always a 2nd place refund up to $100, on about 8 races.
  • *Saturdays*: Same offer as in the midweek, with the change being more races on offer!

AFL & NRL:

  • 20 Point Payout all season in both competitions.

3. Neds

Neds is another bookie which is active with reload offers throughout the week and weekend. They offer good value with their horse racing promotions, and on top of that they usually offer various NRL and AFL promotions.

HORSE RACING:

  • *Midweek*: Varies between backing a winner for a bonus bet, or having risk-free offers on a horse race up to $25.
  • *Saturdays*: 2nd or 3rd place refunds up to $50, and also boosted odds on one race usually.

AFL & NRL:

  • Double winnings and early payouts on one event per week usually.

4. BetEasy

The new merger of CrownBet and William Hill has given birth to BetEasy. Even though it is still early days, they have proved to have had some juicy horse racing reload offers all week long.

HORSE RACING:

  • Varies between risk-free offers of $25, or 2nd or 3rd place refunds up to $50. So far they have been valuable and will be certain to provide us with lots of future profits.

Conclusion

These four bookies are my personal favourite. You may find other bookies to be of better value to you, and that's perfectly fine!

Frequently asked questions

Which is the best bookmaker in Australia for matched betting?

Sportsbet is generally considered the best Australian bookmaker for matched betting because of its consistent daily horse racing refund offers, deep markets and reliable withdrawals. PointsBet, Neds and BetEasy round out the top four for ongoing reload value.

Are Australian bookmakers regulated?

Yes. All licensed Australian online bookmakers operate under state or territory licences (most under the Northern Territory Racing Commission) and are bound by the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 and consumer-protection rules including BetStop, deposit limits and activity statements.

Can I open accounts with multiple Australian bookmakers?

Yes — and you should. Each bookmaker offers its own signup bonus and ongoing reload promotions, so opening accounts with all the top bookies maximises the value you can extract through matched betting. There is no rule against holding accounts at multiple bookies.

How big are typical Australian bookmaker signup bonuses?

Australian sign-up bonuses are limited by law — most operators offer between $50 and $250 in bonus bets, usually as a deposit match. The combined value of working through every available signup is typically $1,500–$3,000.

How do you rank the best Australian bookies?

We rank Australian bookmakers on five criteria: signup bonus value, frequency and quality of ongoing reload offers, market depth on racing and major sports, withdrawal speed and reliability, and how long accounts last before being limited.

What is bonus back and why does it matter?

Bonus back means the bookmaker refunds your stake as a bonus bet if a specific condition is met (e.g. your horse runs 2nd or 3rd). These offers have very high expected value when matched on the Betfair Exchange and are the backbone of ongoing matched betting profit.

Will I get banned from Australian bookies for matched betting?

Australian bookmakers can and do limit accounts they identify as bonus-only. Mug betting (placing small recreational-looking bets between offers) and varying your bet sizes extends account life. Once limited, you can usually still bet at standard fixed odds on major markets.
