Matched Betting In Australia

The Week that Was

A reasonably unproductive week for me personally given I travelled to Sydney on Saturday and missed much of the horse racing action.

Still, for those hardcore and committed match bettors, opportunities are still in place despite the culmination of most of the major metro meets. Limited opportunities remain in other sports but are still hovering around to keep us interested almost daily.

Racing

Often I talk about Horse Racing in terms of the flat racing form specifically. However at this present stage, it’s important to consider harness and greyhound racing equally as important for matched bettors. There was bonus bet back promotions for the greyhounds at Sandown Park on Friday night, something people should lock into their schedule again for this Friday night.

Bet365 also have regular money back races on Harness and Greyhound Racing throughout the week.

Just a quick note – With Harness and Greyhound Racing being less popular, I often find that the margin between the bookmaker’s back odds and Betfair’s lay odds are often greater. As I’ve said previously, make sure you try and get the closest odds possible, often achieved by waiting until as close to start time as possible before placing your bets.

Other Sport

Can we get Sportsbet’s 14 up promotion back please!!

As a big basketball fan I’ve seen a few teams falter after having big first half leads in the past week. In fact, I write this after having just witnessed the Wizards overcome a 19 point half time deficit to overrun the Clippers. All this means very little though with the Sportsbet promo unavailable since yielding us huge profits over the first couple weeks of the season. Although I expect it may come back later in the season, I suspect it will still be quite some time before this happens.

Beteasy’s double your winnings remains your easiest way to make some money whilst Pointsbet’s 10 up promo is your only way of making any major money without taking any kind of risk. Apart from the NBA and some NFL, everything outside of Racing seems pretty dry from a matched bettor’s point of view at the moment.

My Weekly Matched Betting Profits

My profits for the week ended up at $161.26, obviously not great but nor surprising given limited opportunities and a lack of involvement in Saturday’s racing.

I’m also working (yes real work!) a little bit more at the moment which means I’m not as reliant on matched betting profits as I have been. I’m hoping I can see a full day of racing action on Saturday as promotions for Ballarat and Ascot have already been advertised!
